Our 50-Year Journey of Success.
Then
Now
From $429 to a 50-Year plus Northern California institution.
In 1973, Erik (yes there really is an Erik!) borrowed $429 from his father, Ray, to open his first location in Scotts Valley, CA (September 17, 1973). A family business from the start (which it remains today), his father created homemade soups (many of his recipes are still used today), his mother made the deli salads and baked goods, and his brother handled the leases.
Over 50+ years later, those same recipes and commitment to family remains, supporting 28 thriving locations throughout Santa Cruz County, the Bay Area, the Monterey Peninsula and Sacramento County.
